Why the requirement to reapply? I suspect it's a legalistic ploy to protect WT from liability claims. -

Are the GB very intelligent men with higher than average IQ? Or are they stupid men who were put in their position by sheer “LUCK”
by John Aquila inare the governing body of the wt wickedly smart with extremely high iq or are they leaders of the wt because they were at the right place at the right time.
(in other words, pure luck )-think lottery.
ive seen them talk in jwtv and you can never convince anyone in the whole world that these guys are in the same category as someone smart or cunning like jim simons who founded renaissance technologies or bill gates.

"For what they lack in writing ability and producing new spiritual content, they more than make up for in shrewedness."
Shrewd? Based on recent disclosures, they're giving every reason to believe they're bungling away a fortune on the way to insolvency.

Theocratic Ministry School . . . is still there AND longer?
by warehouse inso i made a timeline based on the leaked letter, it is as follows:.

I disagree that the TMS is "still there:" it would seem the new format effectively ends the Ministry School, or at least structurally changes it to a point beyond recognition.
No more speech counsel slips, no TMS overseer, no second school; and participation restricted to just the three five-minute demos (six people at most), and at least some of which are likely to he handled by video.
In sum, a much smaller percentage of the congregation will be involved in the "Apply Yourself to Field Ministry," and likely, the end of pressure for the rank and file to enroll.

Won't get fooled again ...Moon Landing.
by The Rebel inso i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?
not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.

Faulty Reasoning to Promote God's "Name"
by Dissonant15 inas i am newly awoken, i am daily having epiphanies & revelations now.
i've been casually wondering to myself since the propagandist broadcast about the name "jehovah" if it would be more proper to call him "yahweh" to myself.
well tonight the answer suddenly came to me: it doesn't matter.

It also seems to me that the off-hand "Jehovah this" and "Jehovah that" in everyday conversation has exactly the opposite of their intended purpose: it actually devalues or cheapens it. Once you detach it from any identification with his role as the Lord God Almighty, the All-Wise, Eternal Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, it immediately devalues it to the commonplace, or to the level of "just another name.".
He becomes little more than a superstitious talisman, the evocation of a tribal desert god of the Hebrews, among his peers in a pantheon of lesser deities.

Ciao Roberto,
From the looks of it, this movement seems comprised of a much younger demographic than the likes of the old guard -- Achille Aveta, Sergio Pollina, Roberto di Stefano, ecc. Also, do you have any idea if it's a real bona fide Bethelite that's responsible for the "betelitaconsapevole" blog? Also what was the average JW's reaction to Antony Morris's rant during his February visit?

The Watchtower says: The Septuagint became God's Word
by opusdei1972 inthe last edition of the watchtower (study edition) says the following:.
alexander the great later conquered much of the ancient world, and common, or koine, greek became an international language.
so, in this verse the septuagint was not god's word according to matthew.

In this, the Watchtower agrees with the Eastern Orthodox Church, which has always regarded the Septuagint as inspired. -

The "mis-truths" said by brothers during the Royal Commission.
by stuckinarut2 inmy sister said she heard several "mis truths" or dare we say, "lies" said by the brothers on the stand during the royal commission.. 1) vin toole lied when asked about the expression "theocratic warfare".
he said he was unaware of the term.
2) terry obrien lied when asked whether witnesses are free to research the organisation or free to leave without any negative consequences.. 3) geoff jackson lied when he said that the organisation doesn't run a 'police state' and doesn't criticise those who want to leave.
-
Room 215
Terrence O Brien was also called out for lying when, in his bid to dissuade the RC from ordering Geoff Jackson to appear, he downplayed GJ's role in co-running the organization, by suggesting he was mainly involved in translation. -

What were you favorite book in the organization? I know what you're thinking...LOL!
by BashfulAshG inwhat were *your favorite *books in the organization?.
out of all of those books, i liked "mankind's search for god.
" however, it appears to me that this book is incredibly obscure and no one recalls studying it during the old book study format.

Choosing the Best Way of Life (1979) was my favorite; it's sad to consider just how much the quality of their literature has deteriorated since then. I believe the book, along with the Commentary on James was another of those written by the liberal camp, led by Franz, Dunlap and Lengtat, which led into the 1980 Bethel witch hunt.
